Tried looking for a job lately? Sites like Jobserve and CW360 provide a useful resource, but life's too short to wade through the 3000 odd jobs that Jobserve gets daily. What you need are a handy-dandy collection of perl scripts to download the data, sort jobs by your skills and interests, provide an ultra cool GUI interface, and automate emailing you CV to the jobs that suddenly leap out at you.
I don't promise it'll get you a job - bnit it will take a lot of the pain out of trawling through the job sites.
This parses an mbox file (RFC822) and transfers the data into a MySQL database. It was initially written to try and get some telecommute/freelance work. Since the prospective client it no longer interested, I've decided to offer it as Open Source.
This is the perl script I use to streamline FTP when updating this site. (Yeah, like that happens a lot!) Anyhow
